$2 billion domed stadium on the Las Vegas Strip continues to rise, with lower-suite levels and upper deck construction progressing on schedule. Tyler Van Eekhaut, project director for Mortenson-McCarthy, confirmed buttress work marks a significant milestone. The 33,000-seat ballpark aims to open before the 2028 season despite ongoing challenges.

A temporary plaza on the northwest side may be needed because Bally's Corp. hasn't raised financing for the elevated plaza tied to its $1.19 billion mixed-use project. Sandy Dean, A's vice chairman, said the club is creating plans for a plaza to open by the 2028 season. First-tier suites have sold out and 80% of Athletic Club season tickets are claimed.

The A's entered Thursday at 25-24, first in the AL West. They're in their second of three seasons at a Triple-A stadium in West Sacramento while playing six regular-season games next month at Las Vegas Ballpark. General public tickets will go on sale in coming months.
