Foundation work for the Athletics' new $2 billion stadium on the Las Vegas Strip is complete, project director Tyler Van Eeckhaut confirmed Thursday. Contractors Mortenson-McCarthy remain on schedule for a 2028 season opening, having already finished two buttresses and progressing on the lower suite level and main concourse.

Team executive Sandy Dean stated the A's have invested $300 million into the 33,000-seat domed ballpark and have not yet requested approved public financing. The Las Vegas Stadium Authority also approved the sale of personal-seat licenses for select high-end seats, tapping strong demand from a 20,000-strong deposit list.

This milestone arrives as the franchise plays its second of three temporary seasons in West Sacramento after 57 years in Oakland. The team will host six regular-season games this June at its Triple-A affiliate's park in Las Vegas, with tickets selling out in 24 hours to deposit holders, demonstrating local market engagement ahead of the full move.
