UConn forward Sarah Strong has been named Player of the Year after leading the Huskies to a perfect 34-0 season heading into the NCAA tournament. The sophomore standout averaged 18.5 points, 7.6 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 3.4 steals, and 1.6 blocks per game while shooting 60.1% from the field and 42.7% from three-point range.

Strong's dominance extended beyond the stat sheet, as UConn's average margin of victory reached 38.4 points with only one win decided by single digits. In seven games against top-30 NET opponents, her performance improved to 21.0 PPG, 11.0 RPG, and 3.7 SPG. Despite sitting out many fourth quarters, Strong's impact on both ends of the court was undeniable, helping UConn secure the nation's top defensive rating.

Vanderbilt's Mikayla Blakes provided stiff competition, averaging 30.5 PPG in SEC play and earning conference player of the year honors. Other award winners included Aaliyah Chavez as Freshman of the Year, Hannah Hidalgo as Defensive Player of the Year, Olivia Miles as Transfer of the Year, and Shea Ralph as Coach of the Year. Strong's comprehensive excellence across scoring, defense, and playmaking ultimately secured her the top individual honor in women's college basketball.
