Ohio State University has secured a significant corporate partnership with JPMorgan Chase, reportedly worth nearly $17 million per year. This deal, which includes jersey patches for all 36 of the Buckeyes' athletic teams, is considered one of the largest non-apparel corporate sponsorships in college sports history. The annual income is expected to rival or exceed many NBA jersey patch deals.

Ohio State athletic director Ross Bjork highlighted JPMorgan Chase's global presence and Ohio roots as aligning with the university's values of innovation and excellence. The partnership aims to create opportunities for student-athletes and support the sustained success of the athletic programs. This deal also incorporates Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) opportunities for athletes.

Jersey patches on uniforms were approved by Division I leaders in January as a new revenue stream for athletic departments, allowing for up to two patches of a limited size on regular-season game uniforms. The College Football Playoff is also exploring the possibility of allowing patches for postseason play.
