Former boxing champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. has announced his return to professional boxing, ending his retirement to face Mike Tyson in a spring 2026 exhibition. The 49-year-old, who retired with a perfect 50-0 record in 2017, signed an exclusive promotion deal with CSI Sports/Fight Sports. Mayweather stated he retains the ability to 'set more records' and generate unprecedented revenue, citing his upcoming Tyson event as proof.

His return comes days before his birthday and follows a multimillion-dollar lawsuit against Showtime over alleged unpaid fight purses exceeding $340 million. Mayweather's comeback introduces him to a new generation of fighters nearly half his age, though the potential Manny Pacquiao rematch remains a possibility. CSI Sports/Fight Sports co-founders Richard and Craig Miele emphasized the deal highlights their commitment to featuring the sport's biggest names.

Mayweather's first professional fight post-exhibition is yet to be scheduled.
