Good Good Golf Ends Sponsorship Amid Ad Backlash

Good Good Golf is ending its sponsorship of a PGA Tour tournament in November following backlash over a controversial advertisement. The decision came after golf equipment maker Callaway terminated its relationship with Good Good Golf immediately, citing the offensive video that showed a man shoving a woman to the ground while reaching for a driver. Callaway acknowledged its internal review was insufficient and admitted to reposting the ad, calling the content unacceptable and vowing to donate $1 million to organizations supporting survivors of domestic violence.

The PGA Tour confirmed the tournament will proceed as scheduled from Nov. 12-15 at Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa in Austin, Texas, and said it would provide an update on a new sponsor later. Golf Channel also postponed and then canceled its reality show "Big Break x Good" due to sponsor concerns. PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp criticized Good Good's initial response as disappointing and defensive, though he noted recent responses have improved.

The incident has sparked wider consequences, including Dick's Sporting Goods and Golf Galaxy removing merchandise from content creators involved.
