Duke's starting guard Caleb Foster will miss indefinite time after suffering a fractured right foot. The junior underwent surgery Sunday following an injury sustained in the first half of Saturday's victory over North Carolina. Coach Jon Scheyer announced that Foster's return timeline remains uncertain, though he stopped short of ruling out the player for the remainder of the season.

Foster, Duke's fourth-leading scorer at 8.5 points per game, has been instrumental in the Blue Devils' success this season. His absence creates a significant void in Duke's rotation, particularly as the team prepares for the ACC tournament. The 6-foot-5 guard's contributions extend beyond scoring, as he averages 2.8 assists in 31 games played.

The injury compounds Duke's challenges, as center Patrick Ngongba II also remains sidelined with foot soreness. Scheyer expressed hope that Ngongba would recover in time for the NCAA tournament. Freshman guard Cayden Boozer is expected to step into an elevated role, having already logged 29 minutes in Saturday's game against UNC.
