Caitlin Clark caught a handoff from Myisha Hines-Allen and drained a game-tying 3-pointer with 3.1 seconds remaining, forcing overtime in what became a 104-102 Indiana Fever loss to the Washington Mystics on Friday night. The two-time All-Star finally found her stroke after struggling from beyond the arc in the season's first two games, finishing with 32 points, eight assists and four rebounds while shooting 7-for-17 from 3-point range.

Clark went just 2-for-15 from the field through the first three quarters before exploding for 17 points including five 3-pointers in the fourth quarter to erase a nine-point deficit. "I felt like I could have made another, like, five," she admitted. "That's the hardest thing as a basketball player, when you're not making shots — to really stay in it." The 2024 No. 1 pick acknowledged she started hesitating early in the season and needs to return to her aggressive approach: "I'm best when I'm just letting it fly."

The bigger concern for Indiana (1-2) is defensive execution — they've allowed over 100 points twice in three games. "We've been letting [making shots] dictate how well we played defense too much," Clark said. "Which is disappointing for us as a group." Washington (2-1) got career-high performances from Sonia Citron (30 points) and Kiki Iriafen (25 points, 13 rebounds).
