First Four Virginia continued its Cinderella run through the NCAA tournament, knocking off No. 2 seed Iowa 83-75 in double overtime. The Cavaliers became the first team from the First Four to reach the regional semifinals, winning their third game in five days against a sellout crowd of 14,332 in Iowa City.

Kymora Johnson led the charge with 28 points, including 14 in the overtimes while playing all 50 minutes. The Cavaliers overcame Iowa's late chances to win in regulation and first overtime. Virginia hadn't advanced this far since 2000, marking a historic achievement for coach Amaka Agugua-Hamilton in her fourth season at the helm.

The Sweet 16 berth comes as a testament to Virginia's resilience and Johnson's hometown connection. Growing up just 2 miles from campus, Johnson overcame initial doubts to lead the Cavaliers with 19.3 points per game this season. Virginia will now face third-seeded TCU in the Sacramento Regional semifinals, continuing their improbable tournament journey.
