The Big 12 Conference has fined Oklahoma State University $50,000 following anti-Mormon chants directed at BYU during their men's basketball game in Stillwater. The incident occurred after the Cowboys' 99-92 upset victory over the No. 16 Cougars, when BYU coach Kevin Young reported hearing "F The Mormons" chants from the student section.

The conference investigated the "inappropriate chants" and issued the second known fine in the past year for such remarks. The Big 12 stated it "will not tolerate any behavior that targets or demeans others." Young expressed disappointment, noting the chants affect his young children and represent unwarranted hate targeting religious beliefs.

This marks at least the fourth such incident targeting Mormons at BYU games in the past year, with similar chants occurring at Arizona, Colorado, and Cincinnati games. Both Arizona and Colorado previously apologized and faced consequences, with Colorado receiving a $50,000 fine and public reprimand. Oklahoma State president Jim Hess emphasized the university's commitment to respect and dignity, stating the school is reviewing the incident and will address any violations of conduct standards.
