Tragedy in Memphis

The Los Angeles County medical examiner announced Friday that Grizzlies forward Brandon Clarke died from the effects of heroin and cocaine. Clarke, was a key reserve for Memphis.

Jalen Duren, James Harden and seven other players remain on the market as the 2026-27 season nears. A Texas judge dismissed a misdemeanor gun charge against James Harden, the Cavaliers All-Star guard. The Suns locked up Dillon Brooks on a three-year, $73 million extension through the 2029-30 season, his agent told ESPN. The Wizards and Anthony Davis have tabled extension talks until after the season starts, sources told ESPN.

Jaylen Brown called his trade to the Sixers a "crazy transition," expressing disappointment with the Celtics' communication but he is focused on winning and fitting in. Former NBA standout Monta Ellis, who never played college basketball, will serve as Alcorn State's general manager this season.
