MLB Trade Deadline Shake-Up

The Los Angeles Dodgers have reportedly acquired pitcher Tarik Skubal from the Detroit Tigers in a significant deadline deal, marking a blockbuster move for the two-time defending champions. White Sox are also active, acquiring right-handed pitcher Luis Castillo from the Mariners in a trade that sent Seranthony Dominguez, Nolan Jones, and prospect Boston Smith to Chicago. The Atlanta Braves bolstered their outfield by acquiring Lane Thomas and minor league left-hander Bailey Falter from the Kansas City Royals in exchange for two minor league pitchers. Injury Updates and Player Status

Red Sox catcher Willson Contreras underwent concussion testing and was held out of Saturday night's game, but he is expected to return to the lineup on Sunday. Pirates first Ryan O'Hearn has been placed on the 10-day injured list with a strained left quad, and he is projected to miss six to eight weeks. Astros star infielder Carlos Correa is making quicker than expected progress in his recovery from ankle surgery and is not ruling out a return this season. Braves right-handed pitcher Reynaldo Lopez was a late scratch with left knee inflammation and has subsequently been placed on the injured list. San Francisco second baseman Luis Arraez was scratched from the lineup as a precaution due to cramps. Mariners outfielder Luke Raley has been placed on the 10-day injured list with a left forearm strain.
