The Atlanta Braves had to adjust their pitching plans when Reynaldo Lopez was scratched from his start due to left knee inflammation on Saturday night against the Nationals. Lopez was subsequently placed on the injured list. In another move the White Sox are acquiring right-handed pitcher Luis Castillo from the Mariners as part of a trade involving Seranthony Dominguez, Nolan Jones, and prospect Boston Smith. The Seattle Mariners have placed outfielder Luke Raley on the 10-day injured list with a left forearm strain. The San Francisco Giants scratched second baseman Luis Arraez from the lineup as a precaution due to cramps shortly before their game against the Padres. The Boston Red Sox held out catcher Willson Contreras, an All-Star, from Saturday's game against the Dodgers after he was hit by a pitch on the side of his helmet.
