The Chicago White Sox are acquiring right-handed pitcher Luis Castillo from the Mariners in exchange for Seranthony Dominguez, Nolan Jones, and prospect Boston Smith. Baseball's two-time champion Los Angeles Dodgers have added a two-time Cy Young winner in a blockbuster deal with the Detroit Tigers. The Atlanta Braves acquired outfielder Lane Thomas and minor league left-hander Bailey Falter from the Kansas City Royals for two minor league pitchers. Seeking bullpen the Pittsburgh Pirates have acquired reliever Camilo Doval from the New York Yankees.

Injury Updates and Returns

Red Sox catcher Willson Contreras underwent concussion testing and is expected to return to the lineup for Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Pirates first Ryan O'Hearn was placed on the 10-day injured list with a strained left quad, an injury expected to sideline him for six to eight weeks. Braves right-handed Reynaldo Lopez was scratched from Saturday night's game against the Nationals due to left knee inflammation and has since been placed on the injured list. Carlos Correa's from ankle surgery is progressing faster than anticipated, and the Houston Astros infielder has not ruled out a return this season.
