All-Star Selections and Absences

Injury Bug Bites Multiple Teams

The Arizona Diamondbacks placed right-hander Zac Gallen on the 15-day injured list with elbow inflammation. Gallen, is 0-5 with an 8.24 ERA over his last eight starts. Astros center fielder Brice Matthews exited Sunday's game against the Rangers with a left knee injury after colliding with the wall. Mets infielder Bo Bichette was held out of the lineup for a second consecutive day due to leg soreness and a right ankle issue, and he may sit through the All-Star break.
