Ocean Sound Partners-backed PAR Excellence Systems has acquired Terso Solutions, a Madison, Wisconsin-based provider of RFID inventory-tracking technology for the healthcare industry, from Promega Corporation. Terso has spent nearly two decades developing RFID-enabled enclosures and open-air readers with a cloud-based software platform for hospitals to track high-value inventory in real time. The company has installed thousands of enclosures worldwide, serving hundreds of hospitals, health systems and integrated delivery networks, including the US Department of Veterans Affairs.

PAR and Terso have worked together for years, with hundreds of PAR clients already connecting their Terso RFID enclosures to PAR's Track Core tissue and implant tracking software. The acquisition will enable full integration and allow PAR to expand RFID-enabled functionality across its platform, which also includes weight-based inventory technology and a soon-to-launch AI-enabled camera vision product. PAR now serves about 1,700 hospitals, or nearly 30 percent of the roughly 6,000 hospitals in the US.
