Nyne raises $5.3M to give AI agents human context

Nyne, a startup founded by father-son duo Michael and Emad Fanous, has raised $5.3 million in seed funding to help AI agents understand humans across their digital footprint. The Berkeley computer science graduate and former CareRev engineer argues that current AI agents lack the full context needed to truly understand the people they serve.

Michael Fanous claims machines struggle to connect a person's LinkedIn profile, Instagram activity, and public records as belonging to the same individual. To solve this, Nyne deploys millions of agents across the internet to analyze public digital footprints and apply machine learning to triangulate information. The startup's technology can scan major social networks and niche platforms like SoundCloud and Strava.

Led by Wischoff Ventures and South Park Commons, the funding round included participation from angel investors like Gil Elbaz, co-founder of Applied Semantics. Nichole Wischoff of Wischoff Ventures called this an 'oddly hard problem to solve' despite Google's success with ad targeting. As more companies deploy AI agents for customer interactions, Nyne aims to provide the intelligence layer that gives these agents a deeper understanding of both existing and potential customers.
