Gemspring Capital-backed Shrieve Chemical Company has acquired FIS Chemicals, a Scottish formulator and distributor of industrial chemicals. The Aberdeen-based company, founded in 1980, specializes in serving sectors including oil and gas, renewables, marine, hospitality, and logistics.

Shrieve, a global chemicals distributor, had been acquired by Gemspring Capital in 2019. This acquisition expands Shrieve's portfolio of chemical solutions and strengthens its presence in key industrial markets. FIS brings established expertise in chemical formulation and manufacturing to Shrieve's distribution network.

The deal represents another strategic move by Shrieve to consolidate its position in the specialty chemicals sector. With both companies serving overlapping industrial markets, the combination is expected to create operational synergies and enhance service capabilities across their shared customer base.
