Private equity firm Sverica is exiting its investment in the agentic AI specialist WinWire, selling the company to Japanese IT services giant NTT Data. The deal marks Sverica’s first divestiture since backing WinWire in April 2021, when the startup was positioned to capitalize on growing demand for autonomous AI solutions across enterprises.

WinWire, founded in 2018, has built a portfolio of AI-driven automation tools that integrate with major cloud platforms. Its client roster includes several Fortune 500 firms, helping them streamline workflows and reduce manual oversight. The acquisition gives NTT Data immediate access to these capabilities, bolstering its AI services arm in competitive markets.

For Sverica, the sale unlocks capital to pursue new opportunities in the burgeoning AI sector, where it already holds stakes in several early‑stage ventures. By exiting now, the firm avoids the challenges of scaling a niche AI provider within a larger conglomerate. The transaction also signals confidence in NTT Data’s strategy to expand its AI footprint globally.

Industry observers note that NTT Data’s purchase aligns with a broader trend of traditional systems integrators acquiring specialized AI firms to accelerate digital transformation services. With WinWire’s technology now under its umbrella, NTT Data can offer end‑to‑end AI solutions, potentially improving win rates on large enterprise contracts and strengthening its position against rivals such as Accenture and IBM.
