Gryphon-backed ACA acquires HVAC leader Northern Air in strategic expansion

Gryphon Investors-backed private equity firm ACA has acquired Northern Air Systems Inc., a Rochester, New York-based manufacturer specializing in HVAC systems for complex and mission-critical applications. The transaction marks ACA's fifth acquisition since its founding in 1997. Northern Air founder Tim Confer will transition into a strategic advisor role, while Will Rausch will lead the acquired business as general manager.

ACA's acquisition of Northern Air strengthens its position as a leader in mission-critical and specialty HVAC solutions. Gryphon-backed ACA now controls a company with significant engineering capabilities and presence in demanding verticals. The acquisition expands Gryphon-backed ACA's portfolio of HVAC solutions and customer reach. This acquisition represents ACA’s fifth transaction since its establishment. No financial terms were disclosed for the deal. ACA CEO Rick Aldridge stated the move complements their existing capabilities and expands solutions for customers.
