Deal is Eurazeo Planetary Boundaries Fund’s fourth investment in 18 months

Founders and management will stay on as significant co-investors

Miya has delivered more than 200 projects across five continents

Eurazeo has agreed to acquire a majority stake in Miya Water through its Eurazeo Planetary Boundaries Fund (EPBF). The deal marks EPBF’s fourth investment in 18 months. Miya’s founders and management team will continue leading the company’s strategy while remaining significant co-investors alongside the fund. Completion is subject to customary formalities.

Miya works with water utilities to cut non-revenue water (NRW) and manage resources better. NRW is water produced but lost before reaching customers through leaks, theft or metering errors. Since its founding in 2007, the company has completed over 200 projects across five continents, spanning Europe, the Middle East, North and South America, the Caribbean, Africa, Southeast Asia and the South Pacific islands. NRW is estimated at 126 billion cubic meters a year, with the global reduction market valued at about €50 billion annually. Eurazeo plans to support Miya’s growth by strengthening performance and organization and pursuing selective M&A in a fragmented market. The EPBF team also intends to support Miya’s expansion into new international markets. The deal is part of Eurazeo’s impact buyout strategy, backing European leaders with global ambitions that address critical environmental challenges. EPBF stated the investment contributes to freshwater change, pollution and climate change boundaries.
