John Messer of Copilot Capital has made a majority investment in Green Eagle Solutions, a Madrid-founded company building automation software for renewable energy operations. Green Eagle already operates in 18 countries and supports renewable energy assets globally. Its flagship product, the ARSOS Automation Suite, unifies operational data and automates workflows including fault handling and dispatch. While the platform already utilizes AI-based algorithms, Copilot sees significant scope to further leverage AI to optimize operations. Messer identifies a substantial organic growth opportunity as the firm's priority, though the fund will also consider attractive M&A in the sector.

The investment comes as federal energy policies have moved away from renewables, but market economics and state-level policies continue to drive rapid renewable deployment in the US. Green Eagle has established a significant foothold in the US market without a large on-the-ground presence. The focus is now on consolidating this foundation and building the team to capture greater share of one of the world's largest renewable energy markets. Southern Europe is viewed as a value destination for mid-market investors seeking good assets and competitive pricing.

Founded in 2012 by Alejandro Cabrera and Juan Fernández, Green Eagle's automation capabilities can enable renewable energy providers to unlock greater value from their assets. The platform gives operators, asset managers and energy traders full visibility into their fleets while automating responses that previously required round-the-clock manual intervention.
