Clairvest portfolio company Nex Tech Solutions has acquired Halcyon Days Consulting, a defense technology firm that engineers tactical mission networks and operational software for the US military and allied partners, for undisclosed terms.
The deal marks NTS’s sixth acquisition since Toronto-based Clairvest made a strategic investment in the company in 2023 to build a defense technology platform. Headquartered in Stevensville, Maryland, veteran-owned HDC brings more than 90 engineers, operators and mission specialists to NTS. Its tactical mission networks are deployed by US allied and partner forces in contested environments, including the front lines in Eastern Europe and the Pacific, serving approximately 20,000 users and more than 15,000 managed devices across two active theaters.
HDC says it is the only company with operational experience managing wide-scale, combat-proven TMNs. Its networks run on the Team Awareness Kit (TAK) framework. Kyle Miracle is HDC’s CEO. NTS’s provisioning software, MANTLE, is expected to cut the time needed to stand up a TAK-ready network environment from weeks to hours. HDC’s networks already use NTS’s full-motion video transport product, Vid Terra COMPASS. The combined business will offer TMNs, operational software, cybersecurity, RMF execution, systems integration and foreign partner enablement for denied, disrupted, intermittent and limited environments.
NTS has provided systems engineering, testing and evaluation, and operational support to US government customers for more than 13 years. It operates locations in Huntsville, Tampa and Northern Virginia.
