Ambienta has acquired a majority stake in Energreen, an Italian manufacturer of self-propelled and remote-controlled vegetation control machines, from 21 Invest and founder Daniele Fraron. Fraron and 21 Invest will reinvest alongside Ambienta through its Ambienta IV fund. Energreen, founded in 1999 and based in Pojana Maggiore, Vicenza, generates 75% of its revenue outside Italy and serves markets in the US, France, Spain, and Germany.

Its machines are 40% more productive and 6% more fuel-efficient than tractor-based alternatives. Ambienta plans to expand Energreen’s presence in the US and Europe through organic growth and targeted M&A, while continuing investment in R&D. The global vegetation-control machinery market is valued at approximately €4 billion, with purpose-built machines representing nearly 20% and growing at double-digit rates.

Mauro Roversi and Massimiliano Lecchi of Ambienta emphasized Energreen’s alignment with long-term environmental trends. 21 Invest retains a minority stake. Advisers included Mediobanca, BCG, EY, Pedersani Gattai, Facchini Rossi Michelutti, and Ramboll.
