Private equity firms have been active across multiple sectors. Charger-backed Wolf-Gordon has acquired two interior surfaces providers, Andor Willow and Walls & Interiors, bolstering its position in the architecture and design market. In the data center space, CVC DIF, the infrastructure arm of CVC, has agreed to acquire a majority stake in firstcolo, a German colocation data center operator, from Cube Infrastructure. Additionally, Providence Equity has agreed to acquire Hometrack, a company specializing in property valuation data and analytics for mortgage lenders.

Venture Capital and Unicorn Growth

The venture capital landscape saw a significant influx of new unicorns in July, with 40 companies joining the unicorn board, marking the highest count in four years. Financial services, robotics, AI orchestration, multimodal AI, energy, and semiconductors were the leading sectors driving this growth. Meanwhile, the European fintech sector continues to grapple with internal challenges, with culture problems being a notable area of concern.
