Google has expanded its Gemini-powered Fitbit AI personal health coach to iOS users worldwide, ending its previous Android-only restriction. The service, available to Fitbit Premium subscribers for $9.99 per month, functions as a 24/7 digital advisor offering virtual fitness training, sleep coaching, and health guidance. Users begin with a 5-10 minute conversation to set goals, after which the app delivers personalized insights throughout the day.

The AI coach generates customized workout plans tracking core fitness metrics while providing sleep analysis and improvement suggestions. It monitors vitals including heart rate, temperature, and blood oxygen, plus features a built-in chatbot for health-related questions. The expansion comes as Apple reportedly scales back its own AI health coach plans, which were intended for an iOS 27 Health+ service.

Apple's decision to abandon its Health+ service means Google now leads in consumer AI health coaching, though some Apple-developed components may still appear as standalone features later this year. The Fitbit AI coach works with devices including the Charge 6, Inspire 3, Versa 4, Sense 2, and Pixel Watch series, making it accessible to millions of fitness tracker users across major markets.
