Fitbit is expanding its AI-powered personal health coach to new markets and platforms, bringing the feature to iOS users this week after months of Android exclusivity. The company announced that Premium subscribers in the U.K., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore will gain access to the conversational AI coach, which uses Gemini to provide personalized health insights and workout plans.

The rollout comes as Fitbit's largest update yet, with the company taking several weeks to fully deploy the feature across supported countries. iOS users joining the Public Preview will need a Premium subscription, iOS 16.4 or higher, and must be 18 or older to participate. The personal health coach appears in the Today tab and includes an always-available Ask Coach button for health queries.

Powered by Gemini, the AI coach engages users in conversational exchanges to understand their fitness goals, daily activity patterns, and sleep habits. After setup, users receive AI-generated insights about their health data and a customized multi-week plan to achieve their objectives. While some areas need improvement, Android Central's testing suggests Fitbit is on the right track with this AI-driven approach to personal fitness coaching.
