AppleCare+ Expands Theft and Loss Coverage in Japan

Apple today announced that AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss coverage is now available for the iPad and Apple Watch in Japan, after previously being limited to the iPhone there. This expansion brings the same comprehensive protection that iPhone users have enjoyed to a broader range of devices in the Japanese market.

In addition to the theft and loss coverage expansion, monthly and annual AppleCare+ plans are now available for a wider range of Apple products in Japan. The new plan options give customers more flexibility in how they purchase and maintain coverage for their devices.

The changes reflect Apple's ongoing effort to standardize AppleCare+ offerings across different regions and product categories. Japanese customers can now choose from the same tiered protection options available in other major markets, including the ability to pay monthly or annually rather than only upfront.

These updates take effect immediately through Apple's Japanese retail channels and online store. Customers purchasing new iPads or Apple Watches in Japan can now add theft and loss protection at point of sale, while existing device owners may be eligible to add coverage within the standard enrollment window.
