Apple has rolled out visionOS 26.4, the fourth update to its spatial computing operating system that launched last September. Vision Pro owners can download the update through the Settings app, though installation requires removing the headset. The update arrives approximately 1.5 months after visionOS 26.3, continuing Apple's regular update cadence for its mixed reality platform.

The update brings several enhancements beyond routine bug fixes and security patches. Users gain access to eight new emoji characters including an orca, trombone, ballet dancer, and distorted face. Spatial Audio performance improves with faster initialization in familiar spaces as the system now remembers acoustic properties of previously visited environments.

visionOS 26.4 also adds support for AirPods Max 2, expanding accessory compatibility for Vision Pro users. Apple explicitly recommends all Vision Pro owners install this update to benefit from these improvements and maintain optimal security and performance on their spatial computing devices.
