Apple rolls out Siri AI beta with waitlist for iOS 27

Apple released beta builds of iOS 27, iPadOS 27 and macOS 27, each bundling a revamped assistant named Siri AI. The new model behaves like a conversational chatbot, aiming to match services such as ChatGPT. Developers can download the betas now, but access to Siri AI requires opting into a waitlist inside the Settings → Apple Intelligence pane. Early testing suggests noticeable improvements in natural language understanding and context retention.

To join, users update to iOS 27, open Settings, scroll to Apple Intelligence and toggle the waitlist switch. Apple has not disclosed how long the queue will be, though a similar rollout for Apple Intelligence in iOS 18 cleared within hours for early adopters. Availability spans all devices supporting Apple Intelligence, but on‑device features remain limited to newer iPhones, iPads and Macs.

Siri AI operates free of charge but enforces daily caps on tasks like image generation; an iCloud+ subscription raises those limits. The service currently runs only in English and is blocked in the European Union on iPhone and iPad, though Mac users there can test it. China receives no access at all, underscoring Apple’s fragmented AI rollout.
