iOS 27 Camera adds Siri mode and UI tweaks

Apple's iOS 27 developer beta introduces a dedicated Siri mode to the Camera app, joining the existing video and photo options. Users swipe to the new tab at the bottom, then snap a picture; Siri analyzes the scene via Visual Intelligence, identifying plants, animals, landmarks and more. Access requires enrollment on the Siri waitlist.

Visual Intelligence expands in iOS 27, now capable of estimating food calories or splitting a restaurant bill by calculating each person's share. In Siri mode, the central shutter button captures the image while a left‑hand button launches a voice query and a right‑hand button opens a Google Images search. The UI also shuffles quick‑access toggles for Night Mode, Live Photo and Flash to the top center, with the full toolbox moved to the bottom right.

Rumors of a customizable Camera widget never materialized, and the feature remains absent in the beta. Apple plans a public iOS 27 beta in July, with the final OS slated for a fall release. Early adopters will gauge how Siri‑driven image queries reshape on‑device AI, but the updated camera UI already streamlines common controls.
