Apple has released the first developer betas for iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27 following its WWDC 2026 keynote. Developers enrolled in Apple's Developer Program can install the betas through their device Settings apps. The company also pushed updates for watchOS, tvOS, and visionOS alongside the main operating system releases.

These early builds pack Siri AI, the long-awaited overhaul of Apple's digital assistant that was originally promised back in 2024. Users will also find new Apple Intelligence capabilities for photo editing and other enhancements, plus performance improvements across iOS and iPadOS. Not every feature showcased at WWDC made it into this initial release, but Apple plans to add more in subsequent previews.

The betas serve as previews for developers to test and adapt their apps before public releases arrive this fall. Apple typically rolls out public betas during the summer months, giving non-developers a chance to experiment with new features ahead of the official launches. This cycle lets Apple gather feedback and squash bugs before wider deployment.

With these betas, Apple moves closer to delivering its AI ambitions after years of delays. The integration of advanced Siri capabilities and expanded Apple Intelligence features signals a major shift in how users will interact with Apple devices, potentially reshaping the competitive landscape against Google and Microsoft's AI offerings.
