Apple just announced that 36 airlines worldwide now support its Share Item Location feature, a tool designed to help passengers track lost luggage using their AirTag or other Find My network trackers. Rolling out with iOS 18.2, the feature lets travelers generate a secure web link that shares their bag's real-time location directly with airline staff, eliminating the frustrating guesswork of lost baggage claims. Compatible with devices running iOS 18.2 or later, the link automatically expires after seven days or once the owner is reunited with their item.

Major carriers like Delta, United, Air France, and Singapore Airlines are on board, covering significant global routes. This move addresses a chronic pain point in air travel, leveraging Apple's massive user base to streamline recovery efforts. With more airlines expected to join, the days of permanently lost suitcases may finally be numbered.
