Xiaomi to debut Xring O3‑powered 18 Ultra in China

Xiaomi is poised to follow its 15S Pro experiment with a new version of the Xiaomi 18 Ultra that runs on the in‑house Xring O3 processor. Leaked by analyst Yogesh Brar, the chip‑powered Ultra is slated for a December launch strategically for now but will ship only within China, mirroring the limited rollout of the earlier Xring‑based flagship.

Internal documents uncovered by Ximitime label the chip’s code name “Lhasa” and show a re‑engineered CPU layout. The top “prime” cores break the 4GHz barrier, while the former “big” cluster disappears, leaving a higher‑clocked “little” tier at 3.02 GHz. GPU frequency climbs to 1.5 GHz – a 25 % jump – likely using a Mali G1‑Ultra. RAM bandwidth stays at 9,600 MT/s, targeting flagship performance.

The move signals Xiaomi’s growing confidence in its silicon roadmap after the Xring O1 powered only the 15S Pro and two Pad tablets. By keeping the O3‑based Ultra China‑exclusive, the firm can refine performance while avoiding direct competition with Snapdragon‑driven flagships abroad. Consumers in the domestic market will get the first taste of a home‑grown, sub‑4 GHz CPU core in a premium phone.
