A new leak says the Xiaomi 18 Ultra—rumored to debut in December—has been cancelled. Instead, Xiaomi will launch only three devices in its 18 series, with the 18 Pro Max positioned as the flagship. The tipster, Kartikey Singh, posted this on X.

The absence of an Ultra this year indicates rising memory and storage costs. It does not mean Xiaomi has abandoned the Ultra line entirely, as a Xiaomi 17 Ultra successor could arrive next year.

The leak also states that vivo and Oppo will keep their new Ultra models exclusive to China. While the vivo X300 Ultra and vide Find X9 Ultra were launched worldwide, their successors—vivo X500 Ultra and Oppo Find X10 Ultra—may not see global releases.

If true, consumers outside China will miss the latest Ultra handsets, a disappointment after the X300 Ultra broke the tradition of limiting Ultra models to domestic markets. The industry watches how rising component costs shape flagship strategies.
