Xiaomi released the 17 Max yesterday, and a Chinese channel called WekiHome has already posted a complete disassembly video on YouTube. The phone arrives five months after the 17 Ultra, making it the first Max model in Xiaomi's current flagship lineup.

The device features Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 paired with a 6.9-inch LTPO AMOLED display running at 120Hz with 3,500 nits peak brightness. Memory options include 12/16GB RAM with 256/512GB storage configurations. The camera array consists of a 200MP main sensor, 50MP periscope telephoto with 3x zoom, and 50MP ultrawide shooter.

Power comes from an 8,000 mAh battery supporting 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. The phone ships with Android 16 underneath Xiaomi's HyperOS 3 skin. Pricing starts around £699 for the base model, positioning it as a premium alternative to Samsung's Galaxy S series.

This rapid teardown demonstrates how Chinese tech channels now match Western counterparts in speed and quality. For consumers, it provides early insight into repairability and component choices before wider availability.
