vivo will unveil its X Fold6 in China on June 26, opening pre‑orders this week. A Weibo leak reveals a base price of CNY 9,999 (≈$1,475) for the 12 GB/256 GB model, a jump of over 40 % from the X Fold5’s CNY 6,999 launch price. The steep increase reflects rising component costs.

The lineup adds a 12 GB/512 GB variant at CNY 10,999, while the 16 GB/512 GB and 16 GB/1 TB versions are listed at CNY 11,499 and CNY 12,499 respectively. All models pack a Dimensity 9500 Super Edition SoC, 7,000 mAh battery, IPX8/IX9 water resistance, and an 8.02‑inch flexible inner display with an upgraded hinge. Camera hardware steps up to a 200 MP main sensor and a Sony LYT‑602 periscope telephoto lens.

Origin OS 6 Fold runs on top of the hardware, and the phone arrives in four colors: Blue Hole, Black Gold Edition, Salt Lake, and Polar Night. By pricing the X Fold6 well above its predecessor, vivo signals confidence in the premium foldable market despite cost pressures, positioning the device as a high‑end alternative to rivals.

Analysts say the X Fold6’s price bracket lands it alongside flagship devices from Samsung and Apple, eroding the price gap that previously kept foldables in a niche segment. The move forces competitors to justify premium pricing with comparable specs or risk losing high‑end buyers in the Chinese market.
