Samsung has won a legal victory in Germany against TCL over QLED television advertising. The Munich I Regional Court ruled that certain TCL TVs were falsely marketed as using quantum dot technology when they actually did not. Samsung successfully demonstrated that these models lacked the quantum dot components that define true QLED displays.

Quantum dots enhance color accuracy and efficiency by converting ultraviolet light into visible wavelengths. This technology allows for more precise color tuning compared to standard LEDs. The court found that TCL's advertising for six different TV series misrepresented their display technology, ordering the company to stop using the QLED branding and correct false marketing claims.
