Samsung is updating its SmartThings app to version 1.8.51.30 with a major redesign of the Home tab. The update features more compact cards for devices and routines that can be tapped to turn devices on or off or trigger actions. Cards can be resized and rearranged as needed.
The Home tab now includes a Favorites list for quick access to commonly used devices and Smart Things Now, which displays information like weather or suggested routines. The Devices and Routines tabs have also been updated, including improvements to the 3D home mapping feature that allows users to set room dimensions and download 3D models for furniture and equipment. The update is available on both the Google Play Store and Galaxy Store after initially rolling out to iPhone users.
Additionally, Samsung is discontinuing the standalone 'Samsung Sound' app, integrating its functionality for controlling Wi-Fi connected speakers and soundbars directly into the SmartThings app.
