Samsung is rolling out a significant update for its Home Up module within the Good Lock suite, tailored for the upcoming One UI 8.5 beta. The patch addresses a long-standing DIY Home layout 'misalignment' bug and adds new widget size and blur controls. It also introduces a 'bottom swipe' gesture for quickly returning to the last used app.

The update streamlines the Edge Panel, merging apps, people, and tasks into a single hub. A key user-facing change allows for customizing the Share Manager, letting users prune the menu of rarely used apps. This follows last year's major Home Up release, which removed grid restrictions and gave users unprecedented control over home screen customization.

These improvements are currently available to users enrolled in the One UI 8.5 beta via the Galaxy Store. The broader beta recently received its third iteration, a 1.2GB package focused on fixing reported issues. This ongoing refinement suggests Samsung is polishing its customization tools ahead of a wider stable release.
