Supply chain sources report Apple will equip the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max with advanced LTPO+ OLED panels. This technology is more energy-efficient than current displays and could enable new hardware integrations.

The upgrade would allow Apple to place the Face ID IR scanner behind the screen. Rumors also suggest the company could move the selfie camera under the display without sacrificing image quality, creating a cleaner front design.

This change would likely remove BOE from Apple's Pro model supply chain, as only LG and Samsung produce LTPO+ panels. BOE may still supply screens for non-Pro iPhones. The report also hints at LTPO+ coming to a redesigned MacBook Pro.

These displays are expected to debut in 2026, following the iPhone 17 series. Apple has used LTPO technology since the iPhone 13 Pro for its ProMotion variable refresh rates. The move to LTPO+ represents the next step in display efficiency and integration.
