The next-generation flagships are expected to transition to LTPO+ OLED panel technology, marking the first major display advancement since the iPhone 14 Pro introduced standard LTPO.

According to reports, Samsung and LG will handle nearly all iPhone 18 Pro panel production, with BOE reportedly failing to meet Apple's quality requirements for LTPO+ implementation. This represents a shift from iPhone 17 Pro manufacturing, where BOE served as a key supplier. The LTPO+ upgrade extends oxide material usage beyond switching transistors to include driving transistors, enabling more precise current control for OLED emission.

The enhanced technology promises two notable improvements: significantly better power efficiency that could extend battery life, and more responsive display adjustments in low-light conditions. These refinements may reduce flickering and grainy appearance that sometimes occur during Always-On Display operation.
