Omdia reports Indian smartphone shipments fell 13% YoY in Q2 to 33.9 million units, citing rising memory prices reducing affordability.

vivo led with 6.3M units (18% share), down from 8.1M. Samsung followed with 5.9M (17% share), shipments down 5% but share up. Oppo grew share to 14% (4.6M units), Xiaomi held 13% (4.5M units).

Apple was the only top-five vendor to grow shipments, reaching 3.5M units (10% share) from 3.1M, driven by iPhone 17 inventory build-up ahead of anticipated price hikes.

Key models driving sales: vivo's Y11 5G, Y21 5G, V70 FE; Samsung's Galaxy A07 and A17; Oppo's F33, Reno15, Find X9; Xiaomi's Redmi 15a/15C and A7 series. Omdia forecasts double-digit full-year decline due to macroeconomic pressures and elevated prices.
