Galaxy S26 Sales Smash Records in Korea

The Samsung Galaxy S26 series has achieved remarkable sales figures in South Korea, reaching 3 million units in just 118 days. This significantly outpaces the Galaxy S25 generation, which took six months to hit the same milestone, and the S24 series, which required two months longer than the S26. Pre-orders alone set a new record, with 1.35 million units sold in seven days, driven largely by demand for the Galaxy S26 Ultra, which accounted for 70% of initial orders.

This strong performance in Samsung's home market is contributing to a surge in South Korea's wireless communication device exports. In June, these exports reached $1.55 billion, a 51.9% increase year-over-year. For the first half of the year, exports totaled $9.9 billion, up 31.5%. The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy specifically cited the Galaxy S26 series' sales as a driver for this growth.

Samsung has responded to the demand by increasing its July production target for the S26 phones from 1 million to 1.5 million units. A sales campaign offering 20% back in digital gift certificates and anticipation of higher prices for the upcoming S27 series appear to have fueled this sales boom. Extended shipping times for the S26 Ultra into August indicate sustained consumer interest.
