Samsung's Galaxy S26 series is experiencing an unexpected sales surge, reportedly selling three times more than recent predecessors. This boost is largely attributed to consumer anticipation and concern over potentially higher prices for the upcoming Galaxy S27 models. Samsung has responded by increasing production of the S26 series to 1.5 million units for July, up from an initial plan of 1 million.

Domestic sales of the Galaxy S26 have already surpassed 3 million units within 117 days, breaking records set by the Galaxy S25. The company has also implemented promotional activities, such as an "Appreciation Festival" offering a 20% refund in gift certificates for S26 purchases. These sales figures and production adjustments indicate a strong consumer demand for the current generation, driven by market anxieties.

The rising costs of DRAM and NAND memory are cited as primary contributors to these pricing worries, impacting the entire smartphone market. This situation could lead to fewer budget-friendly phones as manufacturers prioritize higher-priced devices to maintain profitability. The Galaxy S26 Ultra appears to be the most popular model within the series, leading sales by a significant margin.
