Ferrari Luce Reveals Samsung OLED Cockpit with 20‑mm Needle Hole

Ferrari’s newest Luce, crafted by Sir Jony Ive, drops a €550,000 price tag and packs a cockpit dominated by Samsung OLED panels. Inside, three digital zones emerge: a 12.9” upper panel, a 12” lower panel, and a 10.1” central control. Ive’s design promises a seamless blend of heritage and high‑tech flair. Ive’s minimalism surfaces here.

The instrument cluster, or binnacle, uses two stacked OLEDs and Samsung’s proprietary HIAA Tech to punch a 20‑mm hole that reveals a physical needle. The upper 12.9” layer shows gauge indexes, while the lower 12” layer houses the needle, creating a three‑dimensional readout that feels more like a dashboard than flat glass. Drivers can interact with displays.

Ferrari’s chief R&D officer Ernesto Lasalandra said the new display setup delivers an unprecedented cockpit where legacy and future‑oriented tech coexist. Samsung panels of 12.9”, 12”, 10.1”, and 6.3” integrate seamlessly, while physical hands on the 12.9” and 10.1” layers add tactile feedback that most dashboards lack. This craftsmanship marks a new benchmark for luxury engineering in the industry today.
