Apple's much-anticipated Siri upgrade has been delayed again, with Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reporting that the enhanced AI assistant won't arrive in iOS 26.4 as previously expected. Internal testing revealed multiple issues that forced Apple to push back the release timeline, disappointing users who were hoping for significant improvements to the voice assistant.

According to Gurman, the new Siri will now likely debut in iOS 26.5, scheduled for release in May. This marks another setback for Apple's AI ambitions, following earlier delays that pushed some features to iOS 27 in September. The company has been working to overhaul Siri with more advanced capabilities, including better contextual understanding and more natural conversations.

The repeated delays highlight the challenges Apple faces in competing with rivals like Google and OpenAI in the AI assistant space. While Apple has been touting its AI capabilities through Apple Intelligence, the company appears to be taking a cautious approach to ensure the new Siri meets its quality standards before public release.
