Just months ago, Musk said he was rebuilding xAI "from the foundations up" after co-founders departed.

Grok's track record complicates xAI's push into coding tools. The model generated millions of sexualized images, including roughly 23,000 featuring children, according to a British nonprofit study. Over 50 researchers and engineers have left the SpaceX-xAI combined entity since their February merger. Policy changes haven't fully restored trust in Grok as a professional tool.
