X, formerly known as Twitter, has begun a limited rollout of its financial services platform, X Money, in the US. Initially, the service is exclusively available to Premium and Premium+ subscribers over 18, following an invite-only beta phase.

X Money offers users a deposit account, peer-to-peer payments, and a debit card integrated with Visa and Apple Wallet. Subscribers can choose between a digital or physical metal debit card, which can be customized with their X handle. Additional benefits include up to 6.00% APY, 3% cashback bonuses, no foreign transaction fees, and early direct deposit. The APY and cashback rates may vary based on subscription tier and deposit activity.

While X Payments LLC is not an FDIC-insured bank, deposits are held at Cross River Bank, a Member of FDIC, ensuring balances are insured. This launch is part of X's broader strategy to become an "everything app."
