Vine reboot Divine bans AI content

Divine has launched as a reboot of the beloved Vine app, bringing back 6-second looping videos with an outright ban on AI-generated content. Jack Dorsey provided funding through his "And Other Stuff" open-source collective, and the app runs on the Nostr protocol, giving creators control over their content and followers.

The app uses cryptographic verification to distinguish between human-made and AI-generated videos, with a clear labeling system in the feed. Currently in invite-only mode, Divine has already attracted original Vine creators like Lele Pons and JimmyHere, with over 500,000 recovered videos from the original app's archives.

Unlike Vine's eventual shutdown due to lack of a business model, Divine's founding principle centers on creators maintaining full control of their content and revenue streams. Dorsey sees this as correcting Vine's mistakes, with a focus on creativity over engagement metrics and ad algorithms.
